Back in the studio!

Last week we returned to the studio in London to begin the research, development and rehearsal process for “Dorian Gray”, choreographed by our Associate Artist James Pett as part of the “HUMAN.” triple bill premiering in Tokyo this August.

This new take on the Oscar Wilde anti-hero is a duet performed by Associate Artist Travis Clausen-Knight and James himself. Both of them were so excited to be back in the studio and start this creation, after over a year of lockdowns!

We even had live, in-person ballet classes every morning with phenomenal teachers such as Nina Thilas-Mohs (above), who provided challenging tasks and supportive advice to our artists. Online classes are great, but as James said after the first class “I missed this so much. It makes such a difference!”.

Following all latest Covid-19 guidance, we also opened our classes to a small number of young emerging dance artists we’ve worked with in the past, making the process feel even more lively and exciting.

It’s great to be back, and we can’t wait to share more moments from the process with you soon.
